We want to make a difference in our lives by helping in a significant way everyday. It’s not enough to do things in passing. It’s not enough to think about what we may want to do someday. We will make a difference with fun and fantastic games that we will deliver to a public that is also hungry to make a difference.
We believe in the power of for profit companies to drive innovation and we also believe in the power of our non-profit partners to stir the passions of our community of players.
There are many noble causes in the world and many demands on our time. We want to marry our time, our family’s time, our pets’ time, our invaluable time with what we do every day of our lives. Is this too tall an order to ask of a gaming company? Is this far-fetched, unrealistic, self-important? We think not. It’s what we must do. We know the phenomenon that is gaming is real, growing and engaging, that online giving has grown intensely and that the game-playing audience boasts many people who want to help.
We want to allow this phenomenon to express itself in a positive, beneficial way through giving and helping. Taking small steps everyday, giving even $1 at a time, can make a big difference in the long run. We will become a filter, a gatekeeper for worthy causes and engender trust from all the supporters who play our games that we have selected worthy causes with which to associate ourselves. And we will work with our non-profit partners to form a union between profit and purpose, where profit serves as a force for change and encourages people to rattle the cage. We will also give our community of players the opportunity to connect with important causes, people and places through the lens of gaming.
Where’s the fun part? Cool, riveting and entertaining games will remain at the core of our efforts. Gamers want to have fun. And we want to goof off too. After all, what kind of minds do you think have created the exciting games we produce! Original, fun-loving, Cirque-du-Soleil type minds. And we want more of those.
We want to shape the world. We want to shake things up. We want to change habits and attitudes. As opposed to successfully harvesting corn, we want to give our users something to share proudly with their friends. We want them to be able to say “I helped save an animal under threat, I helped rebuild a town or save a child, when I played Good World Games.”
